I love you. . . Get Out!!

Dear Baby Abigail,

From what they tell me, you are happy in there. You are warm, cozy, and have plenty to eat!! I love hearing how strong your heart beats each week. However, mommy is not doing so well. While you are sleeping (pardon the expression) like a baby, I waddle around sweating from my walk from the couch to the restroom. I love feeling your kicks and sometimes wondering if you are trying to burrow your way out, but my blood pressure has sent me to the hospital twice. One time, I had to carry a pee jug around with me for twenty-four hours. Awkward. There are so many things about you being in my tummy that I love. But, I am pleading with you. . . get out!!! It is almost July and Houston is only getting hotter.

Let me tell you what you will find on the outside. Mommy and Daddy have worked very hard on your nursery. It is black, white, and red. A lot of people have added a lot of wondering things to the room in order to surround you with love. I'm on bed rest so the house is not as clean as I would like it. Daddy wants to help but does really know how. He still leaves things on the counter that I clean up after him. One day, when you are in your twenties, we will talk about all the annoying traits every man has. Your dad is no exception. But he has a good heart, not all of them do. When I am at my lowest is when he shows his true colors. Mommy had a TERRIBLE maternity picture session at the mall. I spent a whole night crying. Daddy put music on and danced with me in the bathroom. It is little things like that that show you who someone really is. We can always hire a maid!

So, dearest baby Abigail, please come out. I promise I will try not to drop you. I will give you lots of kisses and will try really hard to overlook your yuck belly button. You grandma Jackie (you will call her Mimi) wants to spoil you. And just you wait to meet your special aunt Mary Ellen!!! There are so many people who want to meet you. And mommy is tired of looking like someone filled me with helium. If you feel up to it, please come on out!

I love you.
Mama B (that's kind of a cool name!!)
